Update from Anthony Stewart

Dear Knights of Columbus Council 4972,

Hello!  I hope that all of you are doing well.  All is well here in Rome, and I am anxiously awaiting my upcoming Easter Break in two weeks.  This Easter I will be spending some time in Ireland with a priest friend from back home.  It will be good to get away from school before I finish up in June.  I wanted to send you all a note expressing my gratitude for the check you all sent me last week.  I am indeed grateful, and it will help me with the various expenses I have here in seminary.  This weekend I will be going to Assisi with students from the University of Notre Dame, and will be sure to pray for Council 4972 at the tomb of St. Francis.  Once again, I am humbled and grateful for your support!  I look forward to meeting you all this summer! Until then please be assured of my continued prayers for the good work that you all do!

God bless,
Anthony

Greetings from Anthony Stewart

Below is a greeting from the new seminarian, Anthony Stewart, we are sponsoring.  Please join me in welcoming him and including him in our prayers.

Dear Knights Council 4972,

Hello!  I wanted to write you aanthony-stewartll to express my gratitude for your willingness to support me in these final years of my formation as a seminarian.  Unfortunately, I cannot thank you all in person at the moment because I am studying in Rome. I will return to the diocese in June for the summer, and it is my hope that I can come by and meet you all at a council meeting.  However, so you all know a little bit about me until then allow me to introduce myself.   My name is Anthony Stewart, and I am a seminarian for the Diocese of Nashville.  I’m 26 years old, and from McEwen, TN.  McEwen is a small town just about 50 miles west of Nashville.  It is home to the world’s famous Irish Picnic.  I was born and raised in McEwen, and my home parish is St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  I have three siblings. (2 sisters and a brother)  I am the second of four.  My mother is a nurse and my step-father works as a foreman for a construction company.  I have not always been a catholic.  My senior year of high school I converted to Catholicism from a Nazarene Church.  After high school, I attended Aquinas College in Nashville for two years before ending up in seminary.   I am currently in my sixth year of formation for the diocese.  The last three years I have been living in Rome, Italy studying at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.  Previous to coming to Rome I studied in Columbus, Ohio at the Pontifical College Josephinum.  I only have two years left before I am ordained a priest.  This coming September I will be ordained a deacon at St. Peter’s basilica along with my classmates.

Once again, thank you all for your support!  Please know of my prayers for Council 4972.

In Christ,

Anthony
